LETTER FROM WHATSAPP SEASON 1.3A- NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

It’s a few days to Christmas; that time of the year where the conscious folks brainstorm about what they did right or wrong and what they could do different to change their lives for the better in the following years to Come. In my part of the world, we call it “NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS”. We identify, highlight, and resolve the issues of the current year, then restructure our goals and priorities for the New Year.

As far as WHATSAPP STATUTES go, these are a few New Year Resolutions you may want to take note of.
“Dear God, if sum1 hates me for my happiness, I pray dat you send dem happiness so they completely forget about mine!!” says Abena’s whatsapp status; Chai! My sister! You never met my enemies, like u don change this your prayer (Naija man’s voice). That’s a New Year Resolution prayer right there….  Learn to pray for your enemies as well, don’t be cursing them always.
Aforkor is “Celebrating good friends this December”, you could give her a call on +233 24 ######4; she might have an x’mas gift on standby just for you. But wait ooo!! Have you been a good friend this year? Are you worth celebrating?
Abigail says- “when life gives u a lemon, make lemonade out of it”… I wonder where you are going to meet life, but sure! We are not leaving anything to chance this coming year, even if it gives us ‘limes’ we will squeeze the letters into a ‘smile’.
“Nothing can change us…. We are who we are”, I wonder what my footballer friend -Adjei Lucio means by that. Im open to your views if you have any clues share on it.
My ever lovely Afia says –“Love is not built in a single day but in more days ahead of us”. See, if Love wasn’t fair to you this year, don’t worry there are better days ahead; wait for next year wai??!! Love will surely find you.

To draw the New Year Resolution curtains down, allow Brenda to motivate you with the status- “God has brought u this far, he will end with you”.
“All is well”- Cherry on top, Merry Christmas and kudos to you all.

Bronya With Santa

This is very simple and relative to most of us in Ghana; in that a few years back say- the late eighties up to somewhere nineties, when its Christmas, it came with an extraordinary feeling and excitement. For some of us who spent most of our years growing up in family/compound houses, we were not acquainted to what and who Santa Clause was and when he’ll be coming to town or whatsoever! Santa is in town… Who’s that? And we never bothered to know too, so?

bronya fever in the air  (Pic by Dromo photos)

Now the Santa we knew is and was our parents, 'hehehe' what’s so exciting than seeing your maa or daa (mum or dad… fyi that’s how we call it) returning from town prior to the festive season and all you’re expecting is your Christmas ‘already made’-outfit, accompanied with some toys or knock outs (Christmas crackers) for the boys then surprisingly enough they haven’t bought them for you yet emphasis on ‘yet’ because they’ll be bought but just that its delaying and one can’t wait until its bought cos other kids in your house are already discussing their Christmas dresses. Chale and you haven’t seen yours yet; eeii!! but yeah those were the moments some of us are missing already and I know for sure the d-bees who might happen to read this can’t relate to this that much. Never mind that’s for another day.

Yes yes yes  and you guys remember the only times we got to enjoy soft drinks thus coca cola, pepsi and the likes was on occasions and festive seasons like Christmas? With festive seasons like this- huh! you get to drink and chew all you can, cos chale! when it passes unless another occasion or ceremony like an outdooring (naming ceremony) or funeral and oh yes! in our part of the world we take these occasions world cup paaaa !
You all enjoy your Christmas and don’t allow your kids to experience what some of us experienced okay.

Let me not say all alone, kindly feel free to share with me your experience in the comment box… Thanks

Letter from Whatsapp: Season 1.2

Hi there,I’m back again eerrm yeah so I’ve been wondering, “am I the only person who has come to the realization that whatsapp statuses are now the medium via which coded/indirect messages are shared; with loads of meaning thus, my need for explanations or maybe, I have just refused to understand what most of the statuses mean due to its somewhat ambiguous status. Recently I've come across some interesting statuses and like you know; I can't keep to myself, I have to share with you...Let me do this already before ‘dumsor’ visits me. For starters Amos shared this 'still house cleaning'... well, i can relate with this status, in that sanitation is key and it should start from home or probably if we don't clean this house there wouldn't be space to play or move around otherwise I have no idea what he really means. Hold on! Don’t be confused and surprised already, Binta says 'the axe forgets but the tree remembers....' eerh!! but the axe is supposed to chop off and forget, leaving the tree to remember whatever damage has been caused to it or? Well, anyway we'll see about that. ‘I am a business man, I work 3 different jobs just to keep being a great success in life' sayeth my main man Richie, but on a serious note Richie but why? You want to be the only successful person in Ghana? Sometimes you'd want to be sure of what people’s statuses mean, so that you don’t go mad, talking of madness Edith shared this 'i don't stay mad. I just eventually stop caring', but Edith, what really has caring got to do with madness? Ah but okay!! ... ‘Something’s moving, something's changing, see His glory, feels like #HeavenOnEarth' okay so i know this lyrics is from Micah Stampley's song; So Angie when will you write and sing your own song or use it as a status?

Letter from Whatsapp: Season 1

Well over the few years that I have been on whatsapp i happen to come across  lots of fascinating messages and quotes from my friends, some are funny tho whiles some gives u the opportunity to reshape your  thoughts about life. Here are some whatsapp status  you'll find interesting. Please thank me later okay let me start already...

In Ghana at most events we  proceed with prayer and  @arielgh made that simple for me with her status "Lord order my steps in your word". after the prayer we move on to @awittor  in no particular order tho yes his status said "what else can fire do to gold?" yes really what at all can fire do? Surprisingly @enoch4seth got me thinking he was like jfbskuescbjzldbgbfljskfh really? Enoch what did you mean by that? well lets me move on, this guy i don't know if he attended Shakespears lecture or not he had this to share "Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing its stupid" - Eugene. Well lets see what Abu has got to offer us he also says "Its about time i finally cut some people off" massa take it easy with us eerh? Lets end here before we're cut off Abigail says she's "available" what is she trying to communicate? well your guess is as good as mine.

Eeerm to be continued....
